Campfire Cooking Steak and Potato Boat

Start with thick steaks marinated and stored on ice. Coat the steaks with margarine and steak seasoning. Grill over hot coals to the desired temperature.

This meal is designed to be cooked outdoors over a campfire.  Serves for a hardy meal and food prep can make for a great social gathering in a group of campers.

Potato boats:

  • Slice potatoes into thin slices
  • Chop up red, green and yellow peppers for color and flavor
  • Chop up onions
  • add sliced mushrooms
  • Mix all the vegetables and place in a boat made from alumionum foi
  • Add a small amout of liquid (beer, coke, water etc.)
  • Cook for thirty minutes in a bed of campfire coals.

Serve on a pre-warmed metal camp plate.
